BATTERY BACKUP POWER NOTICE

During an electrical service power outage, your CMS telephone service will be affected unless there is a backup power source. The absence of a backup power source means access to 911 and other emergency services will be unavailable. The absence of internet connectivity during a power outage also causes your telephone service to be unavailable.

You are not required to purchase a battery backup solution.

BATTERY BACKUP PURCHASE AND REPLACEMENT

CMS offers battery backup solutions and replacement batteries for runtimes of 8 and 24-hours. If you are interested in purchasing a solution you may contact CMS at (800) 962-7022 for more detail and pricing. If you choose to purchase a solution, you are not required to do so through CMS.

EXPECTED DURATION

Stated battery runtime duration may be lower based on several factors including: temperature, battery age, and powered equipment. The solutions offered by CMS provide backup power to equipment that connects your Internet service and CMS telephone adapter only. Other devices attached will shorten the duration of the runtime. The battery backup will not power phones or other devices that require a power source such as cordless phones.

BATTERY BACKUP USAGE AND STORAGE

Most batteries should last three to five years. There are many factors which affect Battery life including temperature, storage time, and number of discharges. The battery backup should be operated in an area between 32°F and 104°F. Storage of over 6 months can degrade the battery life. It is advised to follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer to prolong battery life.

BATTERY CARE AND TESTING

The subscriber is solely responsible for monitoring the battery health. Instructions to perform a battery test can be found in the user manual of the product purchased.

WARRANTY

CMS does not offer a warranty on battery backup products. Manufacturer warranty may apply and will be stated in documents that come with the purchased product. Normal battery wear is not covered by the warranty.
