Technical Support Representative Job Posting- January 27, 2012
About the Job
CMS is currently seeking someone who loves technology and loves working with people even more. Due to the rapidly growing size our our customer base we need more great people to answer the phones and respond to email support requests as well as perform basic PC repair.
We like to think we are one of the best providers of internet services and technology in the central Michigan area, but heck, stuff still breaks! And when it breaks we hope our customers contact us first for help.
We are a 16-year-old, technology and internet services company. We are an extremely action oriented bunch, looking to expand our technical workforce rapidly.
Here is what we are looking for:
- You have to be a high energy, go-getter. We don’t do laid back or lazy.
- Technology has to be you passion.
- You have to be a dedicated hard worker.
- You need a little real world experience but this is an entry level position and we are willing to train. But you HAVE to WANT to learn.
- You will need to be an independent thinker and a rapid learner. Things move fast at CMS and we are willing and actually love to train staff our way, but we are not the hand holding type!
- Good communication and good people skills. (MOST IMPORTANT)
- You are looking for a career, not a job. A place to call home.
We want someone who can bag us great testimonials like these:
“Always prompt at answering questions we have. Have helped us fix computer problems quickly over phone. “
“Jake always is such a great guy to work with. We appreciate everything he does for us!”
“Brandon was very polite and knowledgeable he seemed to know what he needed to do and got it done in a very timely manner. He was very helpful when explaining how things worked and a pleasure to work with I wish all my experiences with techs was as good as it was with him”
“Very helpful, very polite!”
“Couldn’t ask for a staff that is more willing to help their customers than the CMS staff. I would recommend them to anyone.”
Here is the straight scoop on us:
We ask a lot of our people. We ask people to work long hours (often) and we expect quality results. We are a high energy, highly motivated team. We use a very autonomous management style, the last thing we do is babysit or micro manage.
Some people thrive in this type of environment and some fail. If you are the type to thrive then keep reading.
You will be a part of something here and will make a difference. You need to be passionate, dedicated and love technology.
This is an office and field position. Primarily you will be at a desk answering phones and working at a bench completing PC repair but frequently you will be sent into the field to manage/replace network gear. You will be expected to take on evening shifts and weekend shifts. You will be part of a rotation though. You will not be expected to work every night or every weekend.
We firmly believe in being a ROW (results orientated workplace) if you are a great person and love our customers, then you will gain great autonomy working with us.
If you don’t like to be bored and like to be challenged, keep reading. No two days are ever alike.
If we haven’t scared you off yet – you might be a good fit for us. Now, even with all that said, this really is a great place to work. Good people, GREAT customers, awesome team. We are fun but we do work hard, you really can have both.
OK, here are the boring details that you would expect to see for this type of job posting. They might be boring, but they are important, please read all the info below – there is some key information you need.

If and ONLY if you fit the description above email jobs@cmsinter.net with your resume AND a 500 word essay on why you would be our next great technical support technician. Thanks!
